Our mission is to support emerging artists through seminars, networking, screenings and events as well as offering assistance to artists seeking grant funding to develop and present their works.
 

Nine Muses is a volunteer-run arts and cultural organization whose purpose is to bring together as a community all who support feminist art and the exploration of women’s issues, and together, foster and perpetuate their reemergence and continued existence. The nonprofit  plans to advance the cause of educating the public about the aesthetic and cultural value of women’s experience, and the importance of preserving and perpetuating women’s art and culture.

Nine Muses is dedicated to:

• Developing the number and range of opportunities available to women and the under served  in the arts.

• Fostering a strong, independent spirit, interpersonal relationships and career building.

• Creating outreach projects which benefit other nonprofits and the larger community.

• To promote greater recognition of women's historical contribution to art and culture.

• To provide financial and technical support for artists through grant writing as well as to provide fiscal sponsorship for artists' projects.

Nine Muses holds quarterly business meetings and plans to feature speakers on arts and cultural topics whenever possible. These meetings also allow artists to discuss and work on areas of common interest,  i.e.  media, funding, marketing, cultural diversity, collaboration building, advocacy, and education. Our programs promote the careers of women and other under served artists, foster the growth of women’s arts organizations and serve female and male audiences alike.
